Abstract
Neuroendocrine neoplasms (NENs) represent a heterogeneous group of tumours. CT or MRI, while being widely available, have recognised limitations for NENs. Consequently, molecular PET/CT imaging plays a fundamental role in NEN diagnosis, detection and characterisation, and has a high management impact, particularly on the selection of patients for radioligand therapy. 68Ga-labelled octreotide derivatives for somatostatin receptor (SSR) imaging are well established for NEN. 18F-FDG (FDG) for imaging tumour metabolic activity, and the dual-tracer imaging approach, are increasingly advocated. The use of other tracers, including [18F]FDOPA and [68Ga]Ga-NOTA-exendin 4, will be outlined. The develo..
